Transmontaigne Tank Foundations

Foundation Constructors Inc
Martinez,CA
$1.51 MM

The TransMontaigne Terminal is a complex facility that transfers on average 139,000 barrels per day of petroleum products via pipeline and marine vessel. In addition, the Terminal has approximately 4.8 million barrels of product storage. The storage tanks hold gasoline, diesel, crude oil, and gas oil. Casey-Fogli poured concrete for the installation of two 4' thick circular invert slabs as foundations for the fuel tanks. The foundations are approximately 6,200 SF total and require 5,250 cy of concrete. The new tank foundation slabs allow for relocating older, existing tanks for safety or cleanup maintenance.

Our crews were challenged with limited on-site access. In order to pour concrete on-site, two pump trucks were utilized: a 47 M pump truck feeding into the hopper of a 32 M pump truck that accessed the site. Concrete delivery traffic flowed well and the deliveries arrived on time throughout the pour. To enhance safety, wire mesh was placed above the surface of the tank foundation while pouring.
